Portable Appliance Testing

Portable Appliance Testing or PAT Testing as it is commonly known, is an electrical safety test that is carried out on all electrical appliances fitted with a mains plug (110v and 240v appliance’s).

Regular testing is required

Regular testing is a requirement under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and is an important part of any Health & Safety Policy in any workplace.

Where is PAT testing required?
  1. Where appliances are used by employees.
  2. Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as public houses, hospitals, schools, colleges, garages, care homes, shops, industrial/commercial etc.
  3. Where appliances are supplied or hired.
  4. Where appliances are repaired or serviced.
  5. To comply with all health and safety requirements ISO 9000 & BS 5750.
  6. To satisfy your insurance company.
